BYU Study

Kenzee and I participated in two BYU studies this week. They put this funny little cap on her that was supposed to tell them what parts of her brain were active. She was in the control group and just had to sit with it on for 5 minutes. The other group watched something on the TV.

Mine wasn't so fun. I had to wear a blood pressure cup for twelve hours. It was on Monday which was my first day back from our KFC trip. Of course I had a million errands to run and I'm sure people thought I was strange with this blood pressure gadget on me all day. I had to record my stress levels and other feelings I was having each time it took my blood pressure. I think it has something to do with our bonding emotions and stress levels as new moms. (At one point I was quite stressed but it had to do with my 16 year old, not my baby. Adam didn't come home from practice and I didn't know where he was...he wasn't answering his phone or responding to texts. He is on the sophomore baseball team and the schedule is on our calendar. Well, he is supposed to dress for JV games, which I didn't know, and when I found him at the ballpark, he was going in to play in the JV game. It was a good thing, but stressful for me until I found him.) The next day they had me do various activities such as feeding and playing with Kenzee while they took my blood pressure. They also took saliva, urine, and blood samples. The worst thing they made me do was put ice water on my forehead for 2 1/2 minutes. That was torture.
